Dylan Kearns Wiki – Dylan Kearns, 25, was on a pedal bike when he was involved in a collision with a white Volkswagen Sirocco at the junction of Moorgate Road and East Lancashire Road at around 7am on Friday. Dylan was taken to hospital after the incident but tragically died a short time later. His family described him as a “well-known lad” who was “loved by all”. A statement from the family said: “Dylan Kearns was tragically taken from all his loving family and his partner Jamie this morning. He was a well-known and universally loved lad with a very warm, infectious smile. He was much loved and will be missed by all.

Dangerous driving arrest after cyclist killed

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a cyclist died in a crash.

Merseyside Police said Dylan Kearns, 25, died from injuries sustained when he collided with a white Volkswagen Sirocco car at the junction of Moorgate Road and East Lancashire Road in Kirkby at around 07:00 GMT.

A 45-year-old man was also detained on suspicion of driving while in poor health due to drugs.

He is currently under police custody.

Mr Kearns’ family said at the memorial service: “Dylan was tragically taken from his entire loving family and partner Jamie this morning.

“He was a well-known and universally loved lad and had a very warm, infectious smile.

“He was much loved and will be missed by all.

Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson said his “sincere thoughts” were with Mr Kearns’ family, who are supported by specially trained officers.

He said this was an ongoing investigation and appealed for any witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.

Road closures remain in place on the East Lancashire Way from Junction 4 of the M57 to Coopers Lane.
